Island Peak Expedition with EBC (Everest Base Camp) is a great way to explore two major Everest wonders at the same package. In this program, you will visit the Everest Base Camp and later climb the Island Peak. The trails find their way to the foothold of Mt Everest and the Buddhist mountain villages. It is a great way to scale the summit of Island Peak along with the exploration of the Everest ase camp. This gonna be one of the epic moments of your life.
The beautiful trekking journey starts with a thrilling flight to Lukla airstrip. As you get off, Himalayas welcome you with its cool breeze. First, we descend to the Phakding. We take an uphill steady walk to Namche crossing over Hillary suspension bridge. The bowl-shaped Namche bazaar welcomes you with warm Tibetan greetings. Savor the traditional sherpa cuisine and get acclimatize your body. It is a perfect chance to explore the beautiful market. This acclimatized trek to Tengboche to Pangboche to Dingboche and to the Base camp offers you the best panoramic view of Everest along other outstanding mountains.
Later, we start our expedition journey to the summit of Island Peak. This expedition ensures you the best panoramic view of Everest, Mt Lhotse, Mt Nuptse, Ama Dablam, and other mountains. The exploration of Sherpa villages, the Sherpa people, and their culture is another best thing you can do during this program.

Welcome to Kathmandu (1,300m)
While entering the border of Nepal, you see the Terai Plain and everlasting green hills. The Himalayas at the horizon smile over your arrival in Nepal. After custom clearance, proceed toward arrival terminal (gate). Our company’s representative receives you and transfer to hotel as assigned.

Explore Kathmandu and Trek preparation
The exploration of Kathmandu valley starts after taking breakfast. You will visit some of the ancient UNESCO heritage which is important destination. Our tour guide will take you to Pashupatinath Temple and its surrounding to explore. This temple is the holiest destination on Earth for Hindu. The temple’s architecture is a masterpiece to behold. After this, you will visit Boudhanath Stupa which is the largest stupa in Nepal. After exploration, visit to Swoyambhunath Stupa, the monkey temple of Nepal. These two stupas are pious destination for Buddhist. The vibes you get from these places is unworldly and divine. As the time goes by, you will visit Kathmandu Durbar Square, one of the oldest squares in the valley. From here, we can walk up to Thamel market if we have some shopping left to do for trekking.

Fly Kathmandu to Lukla (2,860m). Trek to Phakding (2,651m)
Early morning, we drive to domestic airport. We take a flight from Kathmandu to Lukla. It takes 35 minutes to reach Lukla. During flight, you will see thousands of hills covered with clouds and veined with rivers. The Mountain View will excite our new venture to Everest region.
As soon as we land at Lukla Airport, the fresh smells of Himalayas hype our emotion. We explore the local market while our support staffs will load the luggage and gears. The trail to Phakding is almost downhill. We descend and reach to Cheplung Village from where the view of Mt. Khumbila is way too incredible to behold. The trail further descends to Phakding which lies at the Dudh Koshi River valley. Phakding lies north of Lukla and this is our first stopover in the trek.

Trek Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3,438m)
At Phakding after having breakfast, we continue the trek to Namche. We cross Dudh Koshi River. time and again through suspension bridge. The prayer flags and khada (Buddhist shawl) decorate the bridge. We pass through pine forest and approach Monjo. It is a entrance to Sagarmatha (Everest) National Park. The trail climbs steeply as we enter the national park. The view keeps on opening with amazing vistas as we approach Namche Bazaar. It is the biggest Sherpa settlement in Nepal. This place is full of hotels, lodges, guesthouses, cafes, restaurants, internet cafes and other means of facilities. On clear day, we can see the glimpse of Mt Everest and Mt Lhotse too.

Acclimatization Day
A day at Namche Bazaar can be well spent either hiking or exploring Namche. If you plan to hike, we can go Syangboche Airstrip. From here, we can see the Namche Valley along with the Himalayan vistas in a different angle. Later, we can trek to Everest View Hotel – the highest placed hotel in the world. It offers the panoramic view of Mt Everest and other series of mountains.
Back at the Namche, we can go to Sherpa Museum and Everest Photo gallery to explore. Enjoy with the liveliness of Namche Bazaar visiting the colourful markets. Savor the local and other delicacies at Namche and prepare for next day.

Trek Namche Bazaar to Tengboche (3,870m)
Our trek to Tengboche starts with slight drop to Dudh Koshi River and the trail continue along the river. The journey to Tengboche is exciting. We witness the beautiful scenario of hill, rivers, mountains and Himalayan vegetation. We approach our destination Tengboche.
At the confluence of Dudh Koshi River and Imja River, Tengboche lies. It is a beautiful Buddhist village well known for Tengboche Monastery. This Monastery is the largest monastery in Khumbu region. The view of Ama Dablam, Mount Everest and other many mountains is the feast for eyes to behold. We can join the monastery for evening prayer or morning prayer. A short meditation at the monastery heightens the spirituality enlightenment.

Trek Tengboche to Dingboche (4,360m)
The exciting trek to Dingboche continues through Rododendron forest with slight drop to Debuche. We cross over raging Imja River through suspension bridge then hike up to Pangboche. On the way we come across the mani wall and chorten. Pangboche is another largest Sherpa settlement. We take rest at Pangboche and have Lunch. If time permits, we hike to Pangboche Monastery. The uphill trek continues to Dingboche. The amazing landmark of this village is the kilometer long stone wall. This wall has different sizes of stone which covers entire Imja valley. In long run, the villager dugged out the stone and the wall formed. This stone wall helps to protect the crop from cold wind blown to the valley.

Acclimatization Day
The day starts with the magical view of Lhotse, Ama Dablam and the Island Peak from Dingboche. It is the last place to get your body properly acclimatized in the trek. We trek 3-4 hours hike to Chhukung and Imja valleys and explore. Back at the Dingboche, we rest and take good sunbath to make body energized. Make sure to get proper rest before continuing the trek.

Trek Dingboche to Lobuche (4,940m)
The trek gets tougher and tougher as we keep ascending. On the way, at Pheriche there is a heath aid post. The Himalayan Rescue Association (HRA) mange and run this health-aid-post. The volunteer doctors run this post twice a year during trekking season. It is organize to prevent death of traveller from Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS). As we reach Dungle, we see the stone cairn and stupa made to commemorate the death of trekkers and mountaineers to Everest. We continue our trek to Lobuche, located just below the giant Mt Lobuche. From here, we can see Lobuche, Mt Pumori, and Nuptse standing aloft.

Trek Lobuche to Gorakshep (5,170m). Visit Everest Base Camp (5,364m)
Today is a big day. We walk slowly along the Khumbu Glacier. It is the world’s highest glacier located in Khumbu region. We walk for 2-3 hours and reach Gorakshep with few guesthouses. We check-in and take a rest. From here we continue our trek to Everest Base Camp. This is the closest we can get to Mt Everest with trekking permit. The glimpse of Khumbu Icefall and other mountains is breathtaking. During spring, we will be able to meet some of climber preparing themselves to climb Mt Everest. After spending some times, we return to Gorakhshep retracing same path.

Trek Gorakshep to Kala Patthar (5,550m) to Dingboche
The trek to Kala Patthar is the toughest but the reward is bigger than you expects. Early dawn, we trek to Kalapatthar (5550m) passing through rocks and boulders to see the sunrise. At first the sun rays kisses the Nuptse, Changtse and Lhotse. The whole mountain ranges turn silver to gold. This is the best panoramic view one can see throughout this trek. The tears might drop with excitement. Capture those moments and back to Gorakhshep. From Gorakshep we trek down to Dingboche retracing the same path we came.

Trek Dingboche to Island Base Camp
After breakfast, we trek to Island Peak Base Camp following the Imja valley. The backdrop of Ama Dablam is so beautiful to observe while trekking. By mid-day we reach the base camp. At the base camp, we will spend a day or another at tent while climbing the summit of Island Peak.
After Lunch at base camp, there is will be Pre-Climbing session. Our professional guide will provide the climbing technique. They will teach the way to use rope, climbing gears and equipment as well as safety measure. There will be short briefing about the next day expedition too. It is not necessary to have the prior climbing experience or use of gears and equipment. But having this knowledge and experience will surely boost the confidence and success rate of summit scaling will be higher.

Island Peak Expedition (6,189m) and Back to Chhukung
Today, we trek very early in the morning (1 am) and have our breakfast before climbing the peak. Our mission is to finish the climbing before noon. After noon, the strong wind blows which might be the barrier for our successful ascent. We follow the ridgeline and passes through rock gully and right side of rock gully. As we ascend we will be using rope and ladder to cross the crevasses. At the summit, we will take some times to enjoy the moments and celebrate our successful ascent. After taking photos and videos we climb down to the base camp and trek to Chhukung.

Reserved for Contingency Day
We will spare a day as a contingency day thinking what if something might happen while scaling. Sometimes, everything doesn’t move as per the plan, we have to delay or postponed the schedule too. Due to unpredictable climatic condition of highland, it is wise to take a day into consideration. Sometimes there will be bad weather condition and we have to stop. Sometimes some of our team member might get sick, they might not be well acclimatized. So, we take contingency day.

Trek Chhukung to Namche Bazaar
After breakfast, we trek down to Namche Bazaar. As you hike down to lower region, the landscape keeps on changing. The barren landscape full of rocks and grey shades turn to green, friendly environment. The heart gets content to see greenery and be back to Mother Nature. Lunch at Tengboche Monastery, a spiritual domain in Khumbu region.

Trek Namche Bazaar to Lukla
We descend to Phakding and take uphill trek to Lukla. We pass through steep ridge, pine and rhododendron forest. Then we cross suspension bridge to reach Lukla. We cherish our last day trek at Lukla with small party with our team members.

Fly Lukla to Kathmandu & Rest
We take a flight from Lukla to Kathmandu. It takes 35 minutes to reach Kathmandu. Transfer to hotel and check – in. Rest time and time for shopping and souvenirs.
